Fair price , great location , close to station , restaurants and castle short drive, beds and pillow to firm.

Location close to station and great restaurants 5 min walk, clean, free Japanese breakfast food good.

Beds very firm and pillow felt like a rock. Unable to rest my head on it. I had to bundle my clothes.

Efficient stay.

Modern hotel. Small but efficient room in economy class. No noise from neighboring rooms. Has a little work desk, good WiFi, and a fridge. Bed is okay. Clean room. Very near Hikone station. Friendly personnel at reception and in breakfast area.

Because it is located so near the station, rooms on the side toward the station are very noisy from somewhat before 6am if one sleeps with open window. Otherwise, one must be immune against the noise from the air condition through the night. Breakfast ends way too early: at 9am. The friendly personnel let me use the still operating coffee machine and gave me two bagels to toast, so I had a reasonable minimum to start the day with. Check-out at 10am is also rather early.

Very Good

Very quiet, clean, and close to the station. I don't have any important complaint. Because Hikone is not a big touristic city, staff didn't speak English but were very attentive and used translator if needed.

As the city in general, very hard to access by walk because of the train railway. By the time I found out a straight way from the hotel to the station I had to leave. Also, it would be good that being a big hotel where 99% of guests are japanese, they had hot springs to relax. But for the price maybe is too much.

You get what you pay for

The location was in a really good spot close to the castle and the other main attractions in Hikone like Castle Road. It was affordable.

The bed was on the hard side, and the bean-filled pillows were unfortunately not very comfortable. When inside the room with the door closed we could hear every word of the conversations had by other guests in the hallway. At midnight when the person above us decided to shower, we heard all of that noise as well. Lastly, the breakfast was pretty lackluster and it almost seemed like they used powdered eggs instead of real eggs.

Great hotel with a good shower and firm bed in an excellent spot.

It’s right next to Hikone station. They had limited, fixed-rate parking on site. The “rain shower” is awesome. The hotel actively discourages overuse of single-use products such as amenity items. You can also get room package deals that are cheaper by not having full cleaning every day. The breakfast salads were crunchy.

The hotel could be better by using standard item names and food allergy advice signage on breakfast. Adding a cover sheet under the quilt would help to conserve energy. It is too hot to have a bed with a quilt now, without running a fan or air conditioner. I’d prefer washable chopsticks.

The room was very nice and the hotel is close to the station. The staff is kind even though they cannot speak English so much.

We can hear the train from the room.

It was fairly close to the station, less than 10minutes walk and was easy to locate with the bright blue sign at the top. The room was sufficient enough for us and 2 small carry-on luggage.

When booking, I didn't realise that check in was at 4pm, which is pretty late since check out is the usual 10am. The fact that it was 4pm also kinda messed with our plans a little. There was a lot of tapping noises around the room throughout the night which made it difficult to fall asleep. The beds were on the hard side.if you have more than 1 big luggage, it might be tough to fit it in the room. The toilet was pretty small and a sanitary bin was not provided. The breakfast provided was a typical japanese style breakfast where most of the food, except for the miso soup, was pretty much cold.

Lovely room for a one night stay. Very clean. Breakfast included was a bonus too.

Unfortunately, there was nowhere to safely store our bicycles. We had to leave them outside the hotel.

Wonderful

Great place to rest for 1-2 Days if you want to visit Hikone and other places around. Very friendly staff. Everything really clean. Great location 5 minutes by foot away from Hikone Station.

The rooms are small but not really a big problem. You can hear other guests because of the thin walls but its normally really quiet.

Very busy on a Sunday at breakfast so a bit chaotic but it still worked.

The rooms are larger than average, and for a single night the amenities seemed to be as expected. The TV had a couple programs available in English as well. The shower was sufficiently hot for anyone.

The bed and pillows were both very hard. This may be perfect for some, but I prefer a softer bed. The complimentary breakfast was adequate but not special. Coffee was plentiful, but only drip coffee was available.

The Hotel wasn't too far from the station, rooms were clean and they had free breakfast. The staff that dealt with the breakfast was nice.

The staff at the front desk was very unfriendly. They didn't say hello or tried to put on a smile when I entered, although 3 people literally stoof there with nothing else to do. When I did the Checkin at the machine. One of them stood right next to me, didn't say anything and just starred uncomfortably, as did the other two. No one explained anything about the hotel, like where to find the amenities or escalator. I didn't feel welcome AT ALL. If they were scared, because I'm a foreigner and they didn't speak English: Other hotel staff deals with that as well. And assuming no foreigner speaks japanese isn't professional as well. The room was OK, but you heard every movement of the people in neighbouring rooms as the walls creaked loudly, so it was hard to find sleep. The mattress is hard, so if you don't like that, it should be taken into consideration.

Just 5 mins walk from station. Nice business hotel with free Japanese style breakfast. With 10 mins walk to main street with lots of restaurants.

It was a pleasant stay in spite of the city was largely closed down by Typhoon No. 7.

I could easily located the whereabout of Toyoko Inn while getting out of the train station. There was careful design in how to maximize the use of space while not compromising comfort and ease of movement for two persons sharing a small room. For breakfast, the food was good. There was a fresh supply of food on the serving table.

It is located on the quiet side of Hikone Station -- no eateries nor convenience stores -- nearby.
